Suu Kyi issues call for cyclone aid
Burma's pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi has called for assistance from the international community to help victims of Cyclone Giri that struck north-western Burma in October.
A spokesman for Ms Suu Kyi's political party said that the cyclone's victims have received little foreign aid and still suffer great hardships.
Giri killed some 60 people and left more than 200,000 homeless.
The 65-year-old Nobel Prize laureate was released from seven years of house arrest by the military regime in November.
