Swastika-shaped school in Austria redesigned
A school has been completely rebuilt after it was found to have the shape of a Nazi swastika from the air.
The school spent 7.5million euro rebuilding St Martin’s school in Villach in southern Austria after it was discovered the school appeared as the tainted symbol on Google Maps.
The expensive gaffe made bosses go back to the drawing board and come up with a new one, and the school is now square-shaped.
Officials said the original design was based on a Swiss one which was intended to allow light to come towards the centre of the building and had nothing to do with the Nazis.
