Teenager changes her name to 'Cutout Dissection.com'

Tuesday, 14 October 2008

A teenager in the United States has legally changed her name to Cutout Dissection.com to protest against animal dissections in schools.

Jennifer Thornburg, whose driver's license now reads Dissection.com, now wants to be called Cutout for short.

Her new legal name is the URL for an anti-dissection website created by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).

"I normally do have to repeat my name several times when I am introducing myself to someone new," Cutout told her local paper, the Asheville Citizen Times.

"Once they find out what my name is, they want to know more about what the Web site is about."

She said family members still call her Jennifer.

Her father Duane Thornburg said: "It will take me a while. She is still Jennifer to me. I understand why she's done it. Believe it or not, I totally respect it."

She said she started opposing dissections in school, when the she became uncomfortable dissecting a chicken.

She is now an intern for PETA.

Liam now for a moral reason come on, i love animal's but lets face it if we didn't experiment on them then half the cures out there now for sickness wouldn't exist

Fair play to her. It was done for a moral reason and not simply for commercial financial gain.

It certainly works and got me to visit the site!

There was some politician here in America that changed his last name to "low taxes" so that it would appear that way on the election ballot. He also killed his opponent. TRUE STORY

I have no respect for this person what so ever! There are other means on which she could drew attention to the website. I think it is a disgrace that in this modern day and age, someone can change theyre name to a URL!
