Three dead after US car shooting

Police say three people were found shot to death inside a car on Long Island - and the suspect remains at large.

Suffolk County police say the attack happened shortly before midnight on a residential street in Wyandanch.

They say one man and two women were found inside an SUV parked on Davidson Street. Another woman also was shot. She was taken to hospital and expected to live.

Detective Lt Kevin Beyrer said a gunman approached the car and opened fire. The suspect then fled.

Police responded after receiving a 911 call about shots being fired.

Wyandanch is a hamlet in the Town of Babylon about 38 miles east of Manhattan.
