A car involved in a street race has spun out of control and struck a pole before slamming into a tree on a road in San Jose, California, killing three people.

The gold Honda Accord was an unreported stolen car taken from San Jose.

San Jose Police say two people were pronounced dead at the scene late on Tuesday night. A third died at a hospital and another person was injured.

Authorities say the other car, an Acura, sped away from the scene and has not been found.

The identities of the victims have not been released while authorities notify their families.
