Three people were killed in a head-on accident involving a school bus and a pick-up truck in rural Nebraska, authorities said.
The accident happened on Friday afternoon on state Highway 2 west of Ansley, a small town about 160 miles west of Lincoln.
Captain Jim Parish of the Nebraska State Patrol said both drivers and a passenger in the bus died. Their names and ages have not been released.
Capt Parish said the bus belongs to the Broken Bow Public Schools system and was taking students on a field trip. The accident happened when the eastbound pick-up crossed the centreline and hit the westbound van.
Capt Parish added the nine other van passengers were students. He said their injuries did not appear life-threatening.
