Three killed in US plane crash
A medical transport plane has crashed in suburban Chicago, killing a patient, the patient's wife and a third person on board.
Authorities identified two of the victims as 80-year-old John Bialek and 75-year-old Ilomae Bialek. Lake County coroner Artis Yancey said the third victim is 58-year-old William Didier, who is believed to have been the pilot.
Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Elizabeth Isham Cory said the plane was carrying five people and originated from Georgia. She said the pilot reported fuel problems just before crashing in Riverwoods, about 25 miles north-west of Chicago.
Authorities say the two others who were travelling on the plane are expected to survive. Nobody on the ground was hurt.
Investigators with the National Transportation Safety Board are working to establish the cause of the crash.
