A roadside bomb attack has killed three paramilitary soldiers and injured six others in the North Waziristan tribal region of Pakistan, near the Afghan border.

Two Pakistani intelligence officials said the bomb planted near the village of Raghzai detonated today as a military convoy drove by.

Pakistani security forces are currently engaged in a massive operation against militants in North Waziristan and other tribal regions. The tribal regions along the Afghan border have served for decades as a safe haven for local and foreign militants who operate on both sides of the border.
