Two killed in German shipyard tanker blast

Two people have been killed in an explosion on board a tanker at a shipyard in western Germany, officials said.

Police in the city of Duisburg, which is a hub for shipping on the Rhine river, said the blast happened on Thursday morning.

Authorities found two bodies and were searching for any further victims.

The cause of the explosion was not immediately known.

Police said the resulting fire had been extinguished.
