Uruguayan government to sell marijuana

Ministers in Uruguay are hoping to sell marijuana to prevent drug dealers from profiting on the sale of the drug in a move that could be a world first.

According to the Sun, if the proposal is passed by the Uruguay Congress, the government will sell the drug to adults who register on a database. The move will also see the government provide heavy drug users with adequate treatment.

“Prohibition creates more problems for society than the drug itself,” said one minister.
