US army unveils ray-gun that makes targets feel on fire
The US military has unveiled a new 'ray-gun' weapon that makes people feel as if they are about to catch fire.
The technology fires a harmless beam that can create sudden heat of more than 50 degrees Celsius over a distance of 500 yards.
The US says it can be used to get enemies to drop their weapons and also as a means of crowd control in riot situation.
The heat produced does not cause pain, but is intense enough to make the victims think their clothes are about to catch fire.
