Dirty tricks: Flyers instructs Democrats to vote after the election
Friday, 31 October 2008
Fake flyers, instructing Democrats to vote on November 5 - after the US election, are being distributed in Virginia.
Dated October 24, the flyer blames the change in voting times on "larger than expected voted turnout" and said an "emergency session of the General Assembly has adopted the following emergency regulations to ease the load on local electorial (sic) precincts and ensure a fair electoral process."
The flyers, printed with state's logos and a state seal, have been found in Hampton, Newport News, Virginia Beach and Norfolk.
A Board of Elections spokesperson said: "Originally, it was isolated in the Hampton Roads area earlier this week, but it seems to be spreading to the Northern Virginia area."
Virginia passed a law in 2007 making it illegal to spread misinformation about the election process.
Virginia State Police are investigating.

Rod - agree 100% with you - even 110% if that were possible
The people behind this are obviously desperate enough to try to win in the most despicable, un-democratic, un-American manner. I hope they pay in prison. See how they like being thugs for the Republican Party then.
I don't think they will succeed, God willing.

Would it be offensive for me to state that, as an American, I find this fraudulent action reprehensible, that I believe those who have perpetrated this affront to democracy to be among the lowest of the scum of the Earth, and that they ought to be horsewhipped until the flesh comes off their backs?

Seriously is anyone going to fall for this?
