Millions of dollars from shadowy corporations and non-profit affiliates are flowing to super PACS supporting this year's US presidential candidates. Secret money from donors who do not have to reveal their names has become a driving force in American politics.

Donald Trump has described campaign finance as a broken system. During a debate he said: "Super PACs are a disaster. They’re a scam. They cause dishonesty. And you better get rid of them…"

President Obama, who wants to ensure that "hidden interests can't bankroll our elections," is considering an executive order that would require corporations with federal contracts to reveal their donations to non-profit affiliates of super PACS publicly.
