Iran 'forces down plane carrying US military officals'

Tuesday, 7 October 2008

A foreign plane has been forced to land in Iran after violating the country's territory, according to an Iranian news agency.

The agency claims it was US plane that entered Iranian airspace from Turkey despite repeated warnings by the Islamic Republic Air Force.

The Fars news agency said that the incursion was unintentional, and those on board the the jet were questioned and then released.

Five senior US military personnel and three civilians were reportedly on board the aircraft. They were interrogated at an Iranian airport, but allowed to leave the following day after it became clear the incursion was accidental, according to Fars.

Reports added that all those aboard left Iran for Afghanistan after receiving takeoff permission from Iranian authorities.

Iran claims the jet was flying low in an attempt to slip under Iranian radar. The semi-official Fars News Agency did not say when the incident happened.

The United States denied the reports. The Pentagon said all its aircraft are accounted for and none had landed in Iran.

White House spokesman Gordon Johndroe said, "We're looking into the various and conflicting reports coming from the Iranian agencies, but do not have any information at this time that would lead us to believe they are correct."

Back in the days, US was using other country such Afganistan to fight against communist Russia. But now days, Israeli are using US to fight their ugly wars. I believe US government is hijacked by the Israeli influenced thugs and I am hopeful that the next administrations clean all the thugs whom not only loot US economy but using the country for their wars.

All you people blaming the US here are idiots. Remember Iran kidnapping those UK sailors!

Iran is run by a bunch of nutbars! They also send guns and terrorists to aid the insurgents in Iraq, well they did until the Iraqi gov't/US/UK beat them back.

The truth about Iran

Do a google search on Flynt L. Leverett, Iran, Swiss 2003 and you will learn that the real evil is the bush administration.

Iran detained a Jet that entered their air space without permission, Iran interrogated the crew and determined it was accidental and let them carry on to their intended destination. I find it interesting that people are bashing Iran's MEDIA'S reporting when FOX news runs the most hilariously un-investigated "news" stories I have ever seen. Iran is not responsible for regulating its independent news media and rumors fly constantly in any DEMOCRATIC country. Also Centaur I would say Iran is "spoiling for a fight" with the U.S.A. about as much as Georgia was "spoiling for a fight" with Russia. Iran did not "create this incident" it was pilot or instrument error they defended their airspace and when it became apparent that it was an unintentional violation of their air space the NATO aircraft was allowed on it's way with the good natured apologies of Hungary...

Dave, you are wrong. I care about any potential for diplomatic incidents in Iran. The Iranians are spoiling for a fight and it is a good thing that this did not turn out to be the excuse they are looking for.

May be America wanted NATO to do this on purpose to test the effectiveness of Iranian radars.

What's really going on? You tell me. Smell has all the stench of a cover up. I remember seeing a innocuous late breaking news report back in the 80s saying that a Korean Jet liner was being delayed and off course. Hours later it was reported to have been blown out of the sky by Soviet interceptors. That was Korean
Air 007. Will something like that eventually emerge from this incident? Like I said befoe, smells like a cover up. And a lie.

Iran is just creating hype to jack up the oil prices, since it does not want oil to fall below 100. 85% of Iran's revenue comes from oil. they can not get their own story right. Where is the picture of the jet, where are the passengers?

The international terrorists in the white house are getting extremely desperate. They will do anything to start another war. This time with Iran.

As a former Air Force officer, I was able to look at the report on the Iranian News Agency (FARS) web site and reach the conclusion that the Iranians are trying to perpetrate a hoax. I outline it all in a post this morning at http://bobmccarty.com/2008/10/07/iran-claims-us-warplane-forced-to-land-in-iran/ .
