White House on lockdown as 'fence jumper' arrested
The Secret Service has confirmed the White House is on lockdown after a person scaled a barrier outside the grounds.
Video posted on social media showed agents running towards North fence of the White House.
The Secret Service said it was responding to an individual who jumped the bike rack near the fence on Penn Ave at around 4.30pm local time.
The suspect is believed to be in custody.
Reporters at the scene said they were ordered to move inside the complex.
President Trump has been hosting Turkey's president Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Erdogan had left before the security alert.
Last March a man drove a stolen car to the White House claiming to have a bomb and an asteroid that could communicate with Donald Trump.
