An Wild West gun battle re-enactor who fired live rounds instead of blanks during a show and wounded three onlookers has pleaded not guilty to illegally possessing a firearm.
Paul Doering has not been charged with shooting the three tourists during the June 17 show in Hill City, South Dakota.
Prosecutors have not said why they did not press more charges against him but an official said the shootings were apparently accidental.
The 49-year-old Doering pleaded not guilty to illegal firearms possession by a felon. The charge stems from a previous conviction.
Doering has told media that the guns he used were borrowed and that he thought they contained blanks.
