Canadians beef about Pammy!
Oh dear, it seems we're in danger of getting our moral scruples in a twist ...
Pamela Anderson, well-known for her advocacy of animal rights, was due to launch her latest pin-up poster in her ongoing support for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).
Looking rather fabulous in a tiny purple bikini, her bod is marked out on the new ad like a butcher's chart (leg, breast, rump, ribs, shoulder etc) under the slogan ‘All Animals Have the Same Parts: Have a Heart, Go Vegetarian’.
So far, so right on.
But the PC police in Montreal where the poster was due to be unveiled, didn't quite see it that way.
It has now been banned by the city authorities for being ‘sexist'.
That’s right: apparently Pammy posing semi-naked to help our fluffy friends goes ‘against all principles public organisations are fighting for in the everlasting battle of equality between men and women'.
The Everlasting Battle of Equality Between Men and Women?
Sounds like Lord of the Rings, doesn't it?
Given the pomposity of the Canadians, no wonder the Children of the Maple Leaf are sometimes parodied for having quite a ‘dry' sense of humour.
Still, it only goes to show you that these days they'll get you one way or another.
