Photographed topless in a basque contraption by Paris Match, Stone demonstrates that attack is the best line of defence.
“Is there an age when a person should forbid themselves from showing their body?” she says. “If someone is shocked they should ask themselves why they have that attitude.”
That’s the ageists sorted then. But what about those who are shocked at Stone being reduced to such a threadbare old gambit as flashing your thruppeny bits for publicity? (Go on, name a few recent Sharon Stone films. Thought you couldn’t.)
And, of course, regurgitating that old artistic favourite: “I feel that nudity is no big thing if it’s appropriate for the character.”
It’s all done in the best possible taste, of course ...
