Miley Cyrus has released a new 'director's cut' video of her song Wrecking Ball which is one long close-up of her face as she sings directly to camera and sheds a salty tear.
Yes, it's a direct rip-off of Sinead O'Connor's legendary Nothing Compares 2 U video. And it confirms that, though every idea can be stolen, not every face is compelling and not every tear can move us. Unlike Sinead's bare, vulnerable performance, Miley is caked in make-up and looks, to use a good old Scots word, glaikit, throughout.
She says she was thinking of her dead dog. Didn't she like him?
