Play another tune, James Blunt
James Blunt is complaining Radio 1 doesn't support him.
Like many old windbags before him – Status Quo's attempt to sue springs to mind – he seems to believe selling records automatically entitles him to Radio1 airplay.
But the whole raisin d'être of Radio 1 – as outlined in its public charter – is to seek out breaking new music and fresh ideas aimed primarily at 18 to 24-year-olds.
Surely even James Blunt doesn't think that means him?
Why he wants to be on a station he says plays tracks that aren't what he considers 'real music' – unlike his songs, which he informs us, 'mean something' – I don't understand anyway.
