Troubled Tulisa Contostavlos needs support after X Factor axe, love split and drug arrest

I often take time out of my busy schedule to worry about celebrities and this week I'm bothered by Tulisa Contostavlos, writes Jane Graham

The 24-year-old singer/TV star is shaping up to be a salutary tale for our age. Last year, she had a No1 single and a plum judging job on the X Factor. Cover star of endless showbiz/gossip mags, she was voted Sexiest Woman in the World by FHM.

A year on, she's been dumped by the X Factor, her solo album has flopped, she's split with her boyfriend and she's just been arrested on suspicion of supplying Class A drugs.

Tulisa spent much of her childhood as the sole carer for her bipolar mother. She has a history of self-harm and tried to commit suicide twice. I hope her public demise sees friends, family and the industry huddle round and look after her. Hers is not a tale to be splashed gleefully on the cover of Heat.
