Council row does nothing for equality
Is the row about Councillor Graham Craig's praising the City Council CEO whizzing past him really about sexism? Or just party political sniping?
As a fervent believer in gender equality it strikes me as a bit sexist so many (men mostly) seem to infer the CEO couldn't have had a wee word herself if she felt offended. In the battle for women's rights we have bigger things to worry about than a well-meant throwaway line by a decent man.
I believe in equality but it isn't served by reaching the point where men are afraid to open their mouths about anything.
