I've had enough of haass-beens
The failure of Haass continues to command the undivided attention of our politicians but – memo to the lot of them – out here in the real world people are really nowhere near as consumed by the issue as the politicos seem to think. In fact Haass is very much a haass-been in terms of what currently concerns the voting public.
You get the distinct impression that our political leaders believe this may be a key issue in upcoming elections. But if I was a party leader I think I might be turning my attention more to the state of the local economy, the jobs market and above all, the chaos down in A&E. Ask people.
This is where they see the real crisis is.
