The real problem with that Marks & Spencer's ad
Marks & Spencer's Leading Ladies ad campaign is being blamed for the chain's failure to tempt the fashion buying hordes.
This was the campaign featuring a selection of worthy women posing in front of Tower Bridge in Per Una.
The likes of Helen Mirren, who is in everything these days, and poor Tracey Emin, artist, who is being blamed by some for putting women off the collection. Actually it was the ad itself that put me off. I was too busy trying to identify who was who, to notice what they were wearing. It was all too smug and serious.
Like a group shot from a conference chaired by Cherie Blair.
