It's the same old tune ... like ex-politicians and bankers, HMV boss will find a new role

I'm betting Trevor Moore isn't known as King Midas among his mates. He left Jessops to take up the post of CEO of HMV.

At the time he was said to have done great things at the camera chain and would do equally great things for HMV. They both entered receivership in January. I'm not claiming to understand how big retail works, so I'm not blaming him directly for the demise of either. But before you go feeling sorry for him, consider this – what chance has he got of getting a good job now?

Eh, probably a very good one. If recent history is anything to go by, huge failure seems to be no barrier to certain individuals' careers.

Politicians resign in disgrace and get lucrative consultancies. Bankers are sacked and end up advising government on financial policy. So, Trev's probably gonna be alright. Just a pity the same can't be said for his staff.
