Let's cop on to a bit of reality
Imagine the whoops of delight and excitement in police stations round Norn Iron when coppers heard the news that the PSNI is to spend £300,000 on medals for every officer who's served at least three years on the force, an idea backed by Chief Constable Matt Baggott.
Three years? No wonder nothing lasts anymore if three years is considered long service. And medals?
Would you really want a medal just for sticking at your job for three years?
