Speak up for your subjects
Two very contrasting photos of Royal couples this week.
The terrified Charles and Camilla, having a scary time in the back of their Rolls Royce courtesy of some rioting students and the smiling William and Kate, having a great time in front of the camera, courtesy of the official engagement photographer.
Charles and Cam — out of touch with the young people — too old and traditional to get involved in the issue of student fees. It’s just not done.
But William and Kate? They’re not long out of university themselves. They’re the bright young things. What |do they have to say about the subject?
I’ve read articles about other 28-year-old Kates and articles about other couples who met at St Andrews, like William and Kate.
But where are the articles asking William and Kate what they think about something that actually impacts on their generation?
Oh, I forgot, he’s not allowed to comment on subjects that affect his future subjects, sure he’s not?
Funny that I could have sworn I saw and heard him many times a couple of weeks ago, talking at length about why England deserved to host the World Cup in 2018.
So it must be a case of “Balls on the pitch — work away William, say what you like; balls-up in government — |button it”.
