When was the last time you used a phone book to find a number? Chances are, probably a long time ago.
So why do we keep being given yellow and white telephone books every year? I happened to be at the door when my latest Yellow Pages was being delivered and I handed it back to the woman.
Another directory was at the door yesterday. So that's seven unopened ones plus three opened ones in my hall now. I keep meaning to recycle them but keep forgetting. But why have them at all?
I looked online and found that you can call two 0800 numbers to opt out, so I'll do that. But wouldn't it be simpler only to give them out as requested?
We're all encouraged to Rethink Waste NI. Maybe BT might rethink the phone book or I'll end up in years to come, dead, surrounded by cats and towers of unused Yellow Pages ...
