Consultation on changes to schools funding launched

The Department of Education has launched a public consultation on proposed changes to the way schools are funded.

A Departmental spokesperson said: “In his statement to the Assembly on 11 June, Education Minister, John O’Dowd, announced changes to the Common Funding Scheme which determines how funds are allocated to schools. He undertook to seek the views of schools and other interested individuals and organisations on the changes which aim to focus resources directly at tackling educational disadvantage.

“A consultation document has been published on the DE website at: www.deni.gov.uk and anyone with an interest can make their views known until 5pm on Friday
18 October 2013.”
