Three convicted of benefit fraud at Belfast Court

Three people have been convicted at Belfast Magistrates’ Court for claiming benefits they were not entitled to.
Andrea McAllister (48) of Mount Vernon Gardens, Belfast claimed Income Support and Carers Allowance totalling £4,766 while failing to declare employment. She was fined £100 and ordered to pay court costs of £70.
Margaret Turley (58) of Ross Road, Belfast claimed Income Support totalling £5,542 while failing to declare employment. She was fined £200 and ordered to pay court costs of £37.
Both are also required to repay any outstanding money they wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
Paul Reeves (56) of Kinbayne Crescent, Greenisland claimed Income Support totalling £6,311 while failing to declare capital. He was given a 12 month conditional discharge and ordered to pay court costs of £34. Mr Reeves has repaid all the money he wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
