Nerds leave me lost for words over Kindle

I’m developing a contempt for nerds. It started when I noticed their knowledgable reviews of gadgets missed out obviously important aspects, such as whether the item was actually available.

It was like going to B&Q for a bath and the salesman saying: “What, you’re planning to put water in it?” Nerds lack common sense.

Previously, I’d kinda liked them. Nerds are harmless and unsexy, like me. Indeed, a female acquaintance finds me nerdy, just because I’ve memorised Lord of the Rings.

But the new Kindle e-reader has finished me with nerds.

For months, they told us how exciting it was going to be: a better screen and a light to read by. Just what everyone wanted. So it comes out. Not available in the UK. And what have the nerds had to say? Not. A. Word. The whole thing an utter waste of time. Well, this printed news just in: shove yer Kindle.
