A former North Down mayor, he is a former civil servant who worked in engineering.
Why did you want to become an MLA?
I was encouraged by friends and colleagues to run considering my experience as a local councillor. I am very grateful to the people of North Down for electing me.
What are your main passions in life?
I'm a keen motorsport enthusiast and enjoy attending rallies. I'm also an advocate for maintaining Christian standards in society.
What particular issue do you hope to champion in the Assembly?
Representing North Down is my number one priority. Some of the main issues include the regeneration of Bangor town centre, education and school provision, along with job creation.
What needs changed, if anything, in the system at Stormont?
I feel we need more communication with the public to increase awareness of the Assembly's work, which in turn leads to greater ownership. It is important that we have increased public awareness.
