A hard sell, but hopefully US trade mission will bear fruit
While Arlene Foster will have a new role as First Minister during this week's trade mission to the US, she is already well-known in political and business circles there from her previous post in the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment. In that respect her double act with Martin McGuinness, the Deputy First Minister, will have little novelty factor.
But they will have a hard sell. These are the dog days of the Obama administration and the US is navel-gazing as the spectre of Donald Trump as President grows alarmingly more real. Hopefully our politicians can build on past triumphs and secure more inward investment.
