Authorities must ensure healthy eating advice hits home
It is astonishing that the number of people who believe that a healthy diet is too costly is rising sharply.
There have been many healthy eating campaigns, including advice on how to cook nutritious meals, but yet the message does not seem to be getting through. One of the effects is the steady increase in obesity levels in Northern Ireland, but there are also hidden dangers. Many people don't know the recommended daily salt intake, for example, and that could have serious consequences for their health. Evidently, there needs to be a rethink of how nutrition advice is given and if the right groups are being targeted.
