We often laud the courage of the motorcycle road racers whose love for the sport makes them return to it even after being involved in serious accidents. Now it seems that the same spirit fills those who love watching the races.

Spectator Violet McAfee was critically injured last year when hit by a motorbike at the North West 200. She suffered serious head and leg injuries, but is now facing down her demons in a bid to return to the course this year.

She will not be going back to to the spot where the accident happened, but we salute her determination to go to any part of a route on which she almost lost her life.
