Bryan soldiers on

Less than a year ago heroic Newtownabbey soldier Bryan Phillips died for a moment after suffering horrific injuries – including the loss of both legs – in a booby-trap bomb explosion in Afghanistan.

But astonishingly he has set up a charity to help young people who are disabled or facing disadvantages in their lives.

There certainly cannot be any greater inspiration for those young people than Bryan. He has every right to feel embittered by what happened to him, yet is being positive and reaching out to others who feel life has dealt them a blow. Bryan's fortitude is astounding and his charity deserves support. He is leading by example and is a testament to the indomitable nature of the human spirit.
