Cancer drug fund would be fitting legacy for brave Nicola
Nicola Russell, who has died, was a remarkably talented artist whose work hangs in the homes of royalty and at least one former US President, Bill Clinton, as well as those of art collectors throughout the world.
But she was also a woman of great courage who faced a diagnosis of terminal breast cancer with astonishing equanimity. She even found time to back this newspaper's call for an end to the postcode lottery of cancer treatments. It would be a fitting legacy if Northern Ireland was to establish a cancer drug fund to allow sufferers access to the widest range of life-prolonging drugs, which they are currently denied.
