Clean up our act

How often has a relaxing stroll in the spring sunshine been ruined by tripping over someone else's rubbish?

Crisp bags, chip wrappers, soft drinks cans - simply discarded by people too thoughtless to dispose of it properly?

Well, today the fightback begins against the litter-louts. The Belfast Telegraph has teamed up with Tidy Northern Ireland to restore a bit of much-needed civic pride to our province.

Our Big Spring Clean is taking a green army of 3,000 volunteers onto the highways and byways with a promise to spruce up Northern Ireland in time for summer. It's a week-long series of events and it's not too late to join in.
