Cliodhna's love of life after adversity a true inspiration
Cliodhna McCorley is a remarkable young woman, having survived a brain tumour and then run a half-marathon to raise money for the hospital that saved her life.
Now she is organising a glittering gala night to help enhance the hospital's services, giving something back in return for the aid given to her.
But it is her new appreciation of life that is even more striking. Brain surgery left her deaf in one ear and with other problems, but these, she says, are nothing compared to the joy of simply being alive. Like many who have endured trauma, she realises that family and friends are our most important gifts to treasure.
