Considerate city residents are the pride of their alley

The residents of Rutland Street and Farnham Street in south Belfast deserve every credit for cleaning up an alleyway between the two streets that used to be a rubbish dump.

The initiative was spearheaded by local women who realised that working together would not only improve the area, but also develop a good neighbourly atmosphere.

The alley has now been renamed Miracle Way, and rightly so. This is an initiative the city council should note, and perhaps consider a competition for the best alleyway.

We could all do with a few more Miracle Ways in Belfast.
