Day of destiny as heroes set to make history against Greece

Northern Ireland's soccer team faces its day of destiny with a side decimated by injuries and suspensions, including talisman striker Kyle Lafferty. It is far from the ideal preparation for the game against Greece, which could see the team qualify for the finals of the European Championships for the first time.

Even the most ardent fan would not have predicted at the start of the campaign that the team would now stand on the threshold of history. The side has achieved beyond all expectations, and given the players' fighting qualities, there is every hope they can begin planning for France after tonight's game.
