Death cafe breathes new life into most taboo of subjects

Published 07/04/2016

The Bible asks the question, "O death, where is thy sting?" But it is a subject most people prefer not to talk about, and understandably so.

Nevertheless, a death cafe is opening in Belfast to help to encourage people to discuss what has become a taboo subject.

Some may welcome this as an opportunity to begin to face the inevitable, and to try and reduce their fears of the end of life. This, of course, can only be a good thing.

For many, it may even be helpful to reflect calmly on the importance of this literally life-and-death subject, and at least try talk about it a little more openly.
