Despite the problems, our friendly side shines

A survey has shown, happily, that Northern Ireland is the friendliest region in the UK, and that listed county by county, we dominate the top six places.

Despite internal problems, our overall generosity and kindness have been long recognised.

And it is good to see a further endorsement of this. Being friendly - and being a good friend - is helpful for harmony here, and also for our reputation abroad.

Several surveys have also suggested that being nice to others helps people to live longer.

So be good to someone else today - and to yourself in the process.
