Diane's bravery in the face of illness is inspirational
The courage and selflessness of people facing devastating illnesses never fails to amaze. Our story today of Bangor mum Diane McCaughan, who has life-limiting cancer, is a case in point.
She wants to get out of hospital to cheer on the women taking part in our Runher charity event and speaks frankly in the article about her illness and her emotions along the way.
It is thanks to people like Diane that other patients can learn of the realities of living with cancer or another serious disease. But they can also take heart from her approach. She realises the likely consequences but also knows that the human spirit can be unquenchable.
Who would bet against her making the sidelines at Runher? Whatever happens, she will deserve as big a cheer as any competitor.
