Dig out the shorts and barbecue... summer's here at last

As the mercury climbed relentlessly yesterday and with the promise of more sunshine to come, many of us were transported back to our own schooldays, when the sun always seemed to shine during the seemingly endless summer holidays. Suddenly the world seems a better place and with the long evenings we can look forward to relaxing in the garden or maybe have an impromptu barbecue with a few friends.

And during the day the children can spend much of their time outdoors from under their parents' feet, rediscovering the power of their imaginations rather than glued to a computer or games console. Enjoy it while it lasts.
