Dog rescue mission exposes the cruelty in our midst

A little dog, Lola, was one of nine rescued by the Crosskennan Animal Sanctuary and the police who discovered them living in squalid conditions in an inner city part of Belfast.

One dog could not be saved, because of its atrocious condition, but the animal sanctuary is trying to find new homes for the rest.

Happily, Lola has already found a new owner, and hopes are high that there will be a better outcome for the others as well.

This shocking story of animal cruelty in Northern Ireland should alert all of us as to what can happen to so many defenceless creatures in our midst.
