Donating blood can give someone a new lease of life

We all agree that giving blood is a good thing, but not enough of us follow through by actually becoming donors. Read the story in this newspaper today of a young mother and her baby who both owe their lives to blood transfusions and perhaps that will change your mind. Had it not been for selfless people taking the time to go to donation sessions, neither of them would have survived.

Giving blood is a simple procedure. It requires no heroics and has no lasting effect on the donor. Yet its value is inestimable. Blood supplies are always in demand and stocks can quickly become depleted. More donors are always required. Don't just think about becoming a donor, do it. One day your blood could be a life-saver.
