Dumping of puppies in the middle of nowhere disgrace

Animal cruelty is distressing, and unfortunately it has become all too prevalent in Northern Ireland.

The latest example is the story of 10 spaniel puppies dumped in a box in the south Down area and left to fend for themselves.

Thankfully they were found in time by Newry and Mourne District Council's dog warden and brought to safety.

They are now in the USPCA animal hospital, and should be ready for adoption in due course.

Hopefully they will be found new homes, and their story will have a happy ending, at a time when some other animals aren't so lucky.
