Eamonn's Easter stance took courage in a cynical age

Published 30/03/2016

Eamonn Holmes may have suffered a welter of abuse on social media after he tweeted a message about the real significance of Easter Sunday as the most important date in the Christian calendar.

It was a message that many thought fit to deride in this increasingly secular age but their snide remarks do nothing to undermine the eternal truth of Eamonn's remarks.

With so many public figures often unwilling to put their deeply held personal views on such issues as religion on public record, Eamonn is to be commended, rather than laughed at, for reminding us of the central truth about Easter and the Christian message.
