Editor's Viewpoint: A head of his time

Leonardo da Vinci has a strong claim to being the most visionary and talented man who ever lived.

An artist of the highest repute, the inventor, on paper at least, of a rudimentary helicopter, map maker, engineer, expert on botany and sculpture - the range of his abilities were staggering.

Now add to the list -hairdresser. For a complex hairstyle in one of the da Vinci drawings on show at the Ulster Museum in Belfast has now been recreated by a leading local stylist, 500 years after the artist first put it down on paper.

Talk about being ahead of the times.
